If you are also struggling with PUBG Battlegrounds TslGame.exe crashing on you with “The instruction at 0x0000… referenced memory at 0x00000000000. The memory could not be read” and you have tried all the possible solutions discussed on the internet “like verifying integrity of game files in steam, updating windows or even worse reinstalling it or trying recovery of windows in command prompt , or reinstalling the game & still no luck”
Then this might help you as I was also facing the same & when nothing helped below solution ended up solving the issue for me which was not even part of the threads on the internet.
What resolved the issue for me, the issue was my graphics card. Sharing what helped me in case your issues root cause is same.
Root cause: Graphics card / vram, the game (pub g) was more demanding than the graphics card I had so upgrading the graphic card helped me.
So in your case if you have a strong enough graphic card & the game worked for you fine until recent update, worth checking the below option (one by one) –
- if your graphics card is working ok, update its drivers etc. & try if that help if not
- play with your graphic card settings to see if vram is not being bottlenecked & also ensure Graphics card also has access to system RAM (at least 8gb) so if your graphics card has 4gb vram + 8gb system ram will make it 12gb to be able to handle intensive games like pubg, if not
- then try un-installing the card, resetting the bios (by taking out the battery for 5 mins) & restarting the system and see if this helps
- if all this doesn’t help you can go back & try non-graphics card related solutions discussed here just in case if this helps
Hope this helps some, sharing this as on no thread there was discussion about the graphic card on this issue so figuring this out was quite hard & by pure intuition after trying out all the solutions discussed on the threads & tutorials
cheers
